ARMORY:SEALs Standard Weapon Loadout
M60 Machine Gun
7.62 mm - at 23 pounds this gun was designed as a tripod mounted weapon for three man operation. The SEALs consider this a hand held platoon level fire support weapon operated by a single Team member. With two of these per eight-man squad it is easy to see why many opposing forces claimed to have engaged a much larger force when in a firefight with an eight man SEAL squad.
