Navy SEALs Continue To Make History

Subject: SDVT-2 Disestablishment

Gentlemen,

Purpose of this email is to provide an initial invitation to former commanding officers of SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team TWO to the command's Disestablishment Ceremony planned for Friday 08 August 2008.

After long and thorough analysis, Naval Special Warfare has decided to consolidate its undersea forces and relocate the geographic center of gravity to San Diego and Pearl Harbor, HI. SDVT-2 will be disestablished and replaced by a small Dry Deck Shelter detachment which will remain at NAB Little Creek.

SDVT-2 has had a 25-year history of providing specialized undersea capabilities to the Fleet and Geographic Combatant Commanders. Hundreds of SEALs have "cut their teeth" on the undersea mission at SDVT-2, and many more Navy divers and support personnel have served at the command with significant personal dedication. We'd like you to help us mark the occasion and honor the service of all our former command members.

Planning for the event has recently begun, but we anticipate an open house, change of command & disestablishment ceremony, and a reception on 08 August. All events will be held at NAB Little Creek.

We are looking for old photos or other memorabilia to display during the event. We are also asking you to forward this email to any and all former SDVT-2 teammates in order to "get the word out" in advance.

Look forward to hearing from all of you soon.

Very respectfully,

CDR Mike Goshgarian
CO, SDVT-2
